The culinary scene in Sarasota has always been ahead of the curve, and it seems to keep getting better.  For such a modestly sized city, we really have an impressively rich tapestry of quality cuisine options and restaurant experiences.

Included in this list is a write-up on our favorite Sarasota restaurant, Maison Blanche. Owned by renowned chef Jose Martinez, Maison Blanche has been a staple of Longboat Key fine dining for more than fifteen years. If you haven’t yet dined there, you owe it to yourself to try it—it’s a meal you won’t soon forget.

National Home Price Gains Continue to Build – The S&P/CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-city index rose 5.3% compared to a year ago for the three month period ending in November—great news for sellers. Looking at the 12-month change, Tampa tied for 4th place with Dallas for strongest price gains, coming in behind trendy trio cities Portland, Seattle, and Denver.

Sarasota Ritz-Carlton Developer Plans New High Rise

Downtown Sarasota is bustling with new development and for Kevin Daves, the developer of the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, a new plan is on the horizon. Daves recently submitted plans for a 49-unit, 18-story residential condo, situated between the bay front and the Rosemary District, right along US-41. “The Boulevard Sarasota” would bring both new residential and retail opportunities to downtown Sarasota.
